Our House, in the Middle of Our Street
I don't have very many pictures of our place. We have been working hard to slowly fix the place up. I will have to post before and after pictures sometime. We did get the fence taken care of, which is nice for Zuzu, because she can run around outside again.
Zuzu's loves looking out at the yard.
Our comfy couch.
These are the colors we are trying to work into the room.
I need to frame the tile around the fireplace, refinish the floor, and paint the fireplace so the tile stands out better.
I got this vintage map framed to hang in the living room.
We redid the walls in the kitchen, and painted the back door.
It has been a fun project, but there is so much left to do. It's fun to start seeing little bits coming together though.

How We Spent Our Holidays...
Well, we have been pretty busy moving into our house, and that made for a very busy holiday season.
We picked out a super cool chair as our first piece of furniture for the house (because we sold most of our other furniture in the process of moving to Alaska). So this was super exciting. Rob and I were able to compromise on this steal of a deal...
Looks pretty nice right? And the best part is...
It reclines, which makes Rob pretty happy too.
In the midst of the holiday frenzy I took Zuzu to do a little Christmas shopping at Petsmart, and she had a great time riding in the cart. (She had to because I forgot her leash, oops.)
We were on turkey duty this year. We made turkey breasts in Alaska, but this was the first time we have done a whole turkey.
It turned out pretty good. I have become a big believer in the power of the brine!
(Zuzu in her winter sweater, lounging on the Christmas quilt.)
This year I decided to try cutting Christmas decor costs and make some of my own Christmas tree trimmings. All I needed: some felt, and a glue gun (because I have no idea how to work a sewing machine). I think they turned out pretty well...
A tree skirt...
and a matching garland.
I also found this cool tin star. It is handmade, and I love that it is red.
So I think our tree turned out pretty cute. We got our first real tree at the Home Depot (because we were on a budget), and luckily a tree that seemed kindof scrawny in the beginning blossomed into something beautiful... kindof a Charlie Brown moment.
We went to the Seattle tree lighting once again, and enjoyed our tradition of Frangos and shopping with the aunts and cousins.
It was another great holiday season. I wish I had more pictures to share of things like: the colored Christmas lights on our little white house, the swag Mrs. Rogers made for us, and the look on Rob's face when he got his first leaf blower from S. Claus! Oh well, I will do better next year, I promise.

A Favorite Gift From Santa
I am months behind on blogging about the holidays. For some reason I can't get the picture from my camera onto my computer so I can share them with you. Just know that the holidays were very exciting:
-Bought our first house
-Survived Pre-Thanksgiving Snowmageddon 2010
-Became VERY familiar with Home Depot
-Cooked our first full turkey
-Bought and decorated our first REAL Christmas tree
--Made a Christmas tree skirt, garlands for the tree, and a stocking for Zuzu
-Hosted our first small get together at our house
-Had Matt and Lisa up for their first stay at OUR house
-Met our new neighbors
-Enjoyed a great Christmas
-Received the best Christmas present EVER (they were all good, but this one was exceptional)... The COMPLETE collection of I Love Lucy!
Needless to say, my new favorite thing to do is watch a couple episodes while making dinner or spending time in the kitchen. Seriously, one of the funniest shows of all time!

Pickin' Pumpkins
We stopped by Fairbank Farm in Edmonds to check it out. This place is super close to our house, which is weird because this isn't exactly farmland. It is a small farm that is open to the public only during October weekends. They have a bunch of farm animals you can check out as well.
The piggies are so cute, just like Charlotte's Web.
I got to pet the baby goats.
We hiked up to "Pumpkinland" and hunted for the perfect pumpkin. After a bit of careful inspection we found it! We are excited to carve it this weekend.
And after Halloween, guess who's next...
